The Parent Association has gathered a number of resources that families may find helpful. Resources include such things as homework help, school lunch info, school rules, community resources, Department of Education info, and more.

School Menus Online
Find out what’s on the menu for today! Visit the link above and click on “K-8 Lunch” to download the monthly lunch calendar. Breakfast menu is also available.
Dial-a-Teacher
HomeworkNYC offers live chat and whiteboard sessions with Dial-A-Teacher Online. Classroom teachers are available online Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on school days during most of the school year. They also answer homework questions by phone at 212-777-3380 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The teachers on call speak many languages, including Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Haitian-Creole, Russian, Slovak and Spanish.
Homework Help at the Cortelyou Library
The local branch of the Brooklyn Public Library offers homework help during the school year. Check at the library for details.
Guidance Counselors
Two guidance counselors provide support for the academic, social and emotional development of all students.
Family Resources
New York Department of Education
Find out the latest news from the DOE. Text 877877 to get news blasts on your phone. You’ll receive information on everything from lunch menus to school holidays to parent-teacher conferences.
Student Records
Visit the NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) web-based application to see your child’s academic and biographic information on any computer, phone, or tablet. The application is translated into nine languages other than English. In the account, you can see a child’s attendance, grades, test scores, Fitnessgram results, enrollment history, and schedule. Click the above link to create an account or log in to your existing account.
Parent Road Map
The Council of the Great City Schools spells out what your K–8 students are learning in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Roadmaps include guidance about how to academically support your children as they tackle these learning areas.
Volunteer! It’s Fun!
There are many different ways to help throughout the school year:
- Join a PA committee
- Help out before, during, and after school events
- Assist teachers in the classroom
Cultural Liaisons
In order to serve our diverse community, cultural liaisons offer real-time translation services in Urdu, Bangla, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole for meetings with teachers and other administration personnel. Email the parent coordinator, Megan Demarkis or call her at 718-282-5254 for more information.
